As Chair of the Erasmus Sustainability Hub, you will be the face of the organization. Primarily, you will be responsible for the general well-being of the organization. Therefore, you will be leading the board towards a successful year, while continuously working on the overall strategy of the Hub. You will thus need to have a clear vision and be able to develop a good strategy, taking into account long-term goals. At the weekly board meetings, you will be responsible for making the agenda and making sure the board members can work effectively. This will also go through asking for continuous feedback and applying it proactively.
In addition, you will be the first contact personal with strategic external parties, from the university to internal and external organizations. You will be expected to enlarge the Hub’s community and network, by creating new collaborations and partnerships. This goes from keeping track of the various requests received, to attending partners’ events. You will also be in charge of setting up meetings with the ESH’s supervisory board, to ensure the good development of the organization by receiving some feedback and asking for advice.
Finally, you will work hand-in-hand with the Secretary & Treasuser to ensure the smooth functioning of the Hub’s internal activities. As such, you will be in charge of organizing active members events together, such as General Meetings, to strengthen the Hub’s community and establish a friendly environment. You will also both keep an overview of some of the major external events, such as the Erasmus Sustainability Days.
Chair's Main Responsibilities include:
- Leading the Board and maintain a good synergy
- Working hand-in-hand with the Treasurer
- Being the face of the Hub (university, student associations and external parties)
- Creating and maintain the Hub’s strategy
- Building new partnerships and enlarge the Hub’s community & network
- Ensuring the good internal functioning of the Hub
- Supervising the Events Committee (together with the Treasurer)
- Communicate with the supervisory board

The approximate working hours as a board member is around 20 hours. However, this is just an estimate and a board position requires immense dedication to spend 20+ hours on this job.
