Did you know that humans today buy a million plastic bottles every minute and most of this plastic ends up in the ocean? By 2050, the ocean will contain more plastic by weight than fish!
Waste is one of the most prominent issues the world is currently facing and can be found everywhere within our society, and the Waste Committee’s goal is to collectively raise awareness about this global problem and incite collaborations to come up with sustainable effective solutions to tackle it. The members of this committee are responsible for organizing, initiating and supporting projects concerned with waste management and up-cycling.
As a Content Creator, you are responsible for creating and posting informative, fact-driven content for Post Plastic Generation’s social media pages. In the creation of the online content, you will be in charge of interviewing any guest speakers for any videos and closely work together with the Graphic Designers and the Marketing Committee.
You will be the eye for visual details for the content posted on the Post Plastic Generation accounts. You will be creating images, videos, animations, logos, and other visual materials associated with Post Plastic Generation, and working together with the Content Creators as well as the Marketing Committee. Skills such as photo/video editing and knowledge of design tools/software will be beneficial to you in this role.
External Relations Manager
You will be in charge of collaboration and communication with external parties such as the university, associations and companies/guest speakers. You will use the Hub’s network to make sure the events organised are carefully planned according to the university’s laws and requirements.
You will be in charge of organising events such as guest lectures, debates and Rethink Waste Week for the Waste Committee. You will help reach out to companies who could potentially sponsor the events, and thus working closely with the External Relations Manager. You will work on the online and offline marketing of the events to build a brand image and help create a marketing plan, and therefore be working closely with the Marketing Committee. Finally, from an operational and financial perspective, you will be the right hand of the Waste Manager.
