About the event
In “Art for Sustainability,” Ulrike Hahn, a PhD candidate in Visual Art and Climate Change at EUR, will explore the relationship between art and sustainability, discussing critical perspectives on how visual arts can highlight environmental issues, criticize unsustainable developments. The talk on Art for Sustainability will explore the roots of sustainability and art, and the notion of "sustainable art" in today's world. Critical Perspectives on how visual arts relates to sustainability will be discussed. The talk will explore how art can highlight environmental issues, criticize unsustainable developments, and offer imaginative visions. The session will also feature examples of open-ended and more direct artworks that address sustainability and discuss the intended audiences of artists working on climate-related themes, ranging from the art audience to the general public and politicians.
Unleash your creativity and envision a sustainable future through watercolor painting! Our workshop facilitator will inspire you with her own sustainability-themed artwork, and guide you through the process of expressing your own ideas and visions with colors. Choose from a variety of themes or create your own, experiment with colors, or stick to pencil sketches and let your imagination run wild. Participants can then choose one of the three statements that they want to address in their painting:
(a) Visualizing an environmental, or social issue (b) Visualizing existing inspiring sustainability-related themes (b) Imagining a better world: Visualizing sustainable futures Join us and let's paint a better world together!
